custom gemstone ring gold or silver

Amethyst is a gorgeous gemstone with color ranging from pale violet to deep purple. The gemstone has been known for centuries and was at one time, considered to be as rare as rubies and sapphires. It was the bigger resources of amethyst that were found in Brazil that, made this gorgeous gemstone more affordable. The beauty of the gemstone is one of the reasons, why Kaisilver gets a large number of amethyst ring orders each year.

RING SPECIFICATIONS

The RG171 ring is custom made in gold or silver. The same team of skilled artisans and gem cutters, work on the gold and silver amethyst ring. This ensures that the silver and gold rings have the same high standards.

- The gold amethyst ring can be ordered in 18k, 14k or 10k gold (request for price quote for 10k gold). For all Kaisilver gold jewelry, you also have the option to choose from white, yellow or pink gold.

- For the silver ring, we would suggest no plating be done. This is because any plating done on silver, will wear off after a while. However if you still prefer to have your silver amethyst ring to be plated, let us know and we will do it for you.

- Shown as an amethyst ring, the RG171 ring can be ordered with the gemstone of your choice. The gem size ranges from 6mm to 8mm, the price table mentions the gem sizes for each gemstone group. Since all features of the ring can be customized, in terms of gemstone type, size and shape.

- The diamonds in the ring are 2.5mm rounds. Diamonds are natural and not lab created. You can make a request for lab created diamonds, instead of natural diamonds.

- The ring has a weight of around 10 to 12 grams, this makes the ring sturdy and long lasting. Large ring sizes might require additional metal weight, you will be informed if this would affect the price.

- The portion behind the finger for this custom amethyst ring is around 3mm to 4mm. This makes the ring strong and sturdy, it will not bend or deform easily.

- All ring sizes requests can be accommodated, price quotes will be worked out for specific requirements. We will let you know if large ring sizes require additional metal (gold or silver) weight.

- Kaisilver can also craft a unique jewel for you - based on your own design concept. Or you could pick any design from our website and request for design modifications.

CUSTOMS AND BELIEFS

The beauty of amethyst is enough to impress even the most seasoned gemstone lover but, amethyst rings and other amethyst gemstone jewelry are worn for a few other reasons too. Some traditions related to amethyst have come down for centuries, others are not very relevant today. Knowing more about the gem in your amethyst ring, would make you better appreciate this beautiful gem given to us by mother nature.

- The name "amethyst" comes from the Greek word "amethystos," which means "not intoxicated." The ancient Greeks believed that wearing amethyst could protect them from drunkenness. They often carved drinking vessels from amethyst to ward off the effects of alcohol. While not many jewelry lovers would wear an amethyst ring based on this belief today, it happens to be one of the oldest beliefs linked to amethyst!

- Ancient Egyptians believed that amethyst had protective properties and used it in amulets to guard against negative thoughts and psychic attacks. In Christianity, amethyst is associated with piety and purity. It has been used in church ornaments and religious jewelry. Amethyst is also believed to represent the Apostle Matthias and is often seen in the Episcopal ring worn by bishops.

- Amethyst is widely considered a protective stone. It is thought to ward off negative energy, stress, and psychic attacks. It's often used in meditation and healing practices to promote calmness and balance. Believers in crystal therapy still believe in the protective properties of amethyst - a significant reason why jewelry including rings with amethyst, are worn even today.

- Many people believe that amethyst enhances spiritual growth and intuition. It's commonly used in spiritual rituals to open the third eye and crown chakras, facilitating a connection to higher realms.

- Echoing ancient Greek beliefs, amethyst is thought to help individuals break free from addictive habits and promote clarity of mind. It is often recommended for those seeking to gain control over their thoughts and emotions. Crystal healers often recommend wearing an amethyst gemstone ring, for believers who claim to be confused and addicted in any way.

BIRTHSTONE AND ANNIVERSARY GEM

One of the oldest traditions related to gems and crystals, relates to birthstones. The concept that each one of us makes a special connection to a gemstone, based on we were born - is all about birthstones. As the Kaisilver Birthstone Charts would show, that amethyst is the birthstone for the month of February. Wearing or gifting an amethyst birthstone ring, is a great way to celebrate this February birthstone.

Amethyst is traditionally given as a gift for the 6th and 17th wedding anniversaries, symbolizing a deep and enduring love. This anniversary could be marked with an amethyst ring, a pendant, bracelet or a pair of amethyst earrings would also be fine.

GOLD OR SILVER

Like all other custom made jewelry from Kaisilver, the RG171 amethyst and diamond ring can be ordered in gold or silver. The demand for silver rings has risen in recent years and price is not one of the big reasons! A well crafted silver ring delivers a comforting and classic look - ideally every fine jewelry collection should include at least a few finely crafted silver rings. The high standards related to design, gemstone and quality maintained for Kaisilver gold and silver rings (and other jewelry) - makes it easy for you to choose between gold and silver.

For a gold amethyst ring, we would recommend 14k gold and your choice of white, yellow or pink gold. While Kaisilver provides options for 10k (price on request), 14k and 18k gold - it is 14k gold jewelry, that has the right combination of metal hardness and gold content. We leave the final decision to you.

And if you adore silver jewelry and prefer to wear a silver amethyst ring, our advise would be to leave the silver amethyst ring un-plated. The main reason being that, plating on silver will always wear off after a while. This remains true no matter, what plating you use and where the plating is done. The plating on silver jewelry will wear off in patches, the exposed portions will attract tarnish - the silver amethyst ring would then end up looking dull and boring and cleaning, poses a few challenges.

Our suggestion would be to keep the silver diamond and amethyst ring un-plated. Silver tarnish is a natural phenomenon but, it can be easily managed if you do the cleaning process just as the tarnish sets in. Do not allow the tarnish to keep developing on your amethyst silver ring, this will make the tarnish stubborn and cleaning could then, call for professional help. If you prefer to have the silver ring plated, let us know and we will do that for you.

GEMSTONE SELECTION

Networked to all major gem mining and cutting operations across the globe, Kaisilver has preferential access to over 200 million carats of gemstones. We place absolutely no limitation on gem selection, this means that you could retain the design concept of the RG171 amethyst ring and request for, the gemstone of your choice.

Besides gemstone type - the shape, size and even the cut (cabochon or faceted) of the gemstone can be customized to suit your preference. Larger gem sizes could increase overall ring dimensions, this is likely to require more metal weight (to maintain durability) - our support experts will share all such details before, the order confirmation and payment phase.

All gemstone references on Kaisilver websites, refer to natural and not lab created gemstones. However if you are interested in choosing lab created gems or diamonds for your jewelry, email our experts at sales@kaisilver.com and we will work on details and pricing together.

CUSTOMIZING THE RING

Since all jewelry from Kaisilver is fully custom made, all design modification requests can be accommodated. As an example, the RG171 ring was designed to give maximum exposure to the gemstone (as per the client request), however this design concept, leaves the corners of the gem exposed. It is possible to modify the design of this amethyst ring, to include 'L' shaped prongs on 4 corners of the gemstone. This will provide significant protection to the gemstone. You could also consider bezel setting for the gem where, the entire border of the gemstone is bordered with metal (gold or silver).

There is no limitation on the customization that we can do, we can even craft a unique gemstone ring for you based on your own design idea.

KAISILVER REVIEWS

Dear Ms. Seang, Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am very excited and overwhelmed to receive my ring and earrings. The ring is EXACTLY the same as the one that was stolen and I never thought I could replace it exactly, even to the spinal effect of the stones. The result is the ring is perfectly the same and the earrings match so well, just like the ones I lost. I do thank you so much. Your service and products have been excellent, and I would thoroughly recommend you to anyone. Reading the comments of other people you must be very pleased with the pleasure you give to your customers, when they receive your products. Please use me for publicity if you wish. Thank you also for your good wishes and blessing.
Thank you and God bless, Patricia Dodd.
