FEATURES AND MEANING

If you observe the claddagh ring, you would notice the center heart and a hand on either side of the heart. Over the heart is a crown. Each of these features is assigned a special symbolism and together, gives the claddagh ring its deep meaning. The heart denotes love, the hands are held out in togetherness of friendship and the crown symbolizes loyalty.

Clarifying that love depicted by the heart in the claddagh ring, is not limited to matrimonial love. And the loyalty symbolized by the crown, refer to loyalty to each other in a relationship - not related to loyalty to royalty. Kaisilver would like to clarify this as, there is often a misconception in the interpretation of loyalty, as symbolized by the claddagh ring.

While you could order a Kaisilver claddagh ring with the gemstone of your choice, the fact is that the original claddagh ring crafted by an Irish fisherman turned slave, had no gemstones. The entire ring including the heart shaped center, were crafted in gold. We can craft a claddagh ring in silver or gold for you, with or without a gemstone in the center. In the case of rings with no gemstone, the center heart would also be done in gold or silver.

It is equally true that the gemstone which a heart shape, still retains the overall concept of the original claddagh ring - with a heart shaped center gemstone. And the addition of a gemstone to a gold or silver claddagh ring, would add to the beauty and meaning of the jewel. Will talk more about the gemstone in your claddagh ring in the next section below but, for the moment suffice it to say that - Kaisilver places absolutely no restriction on your choice of gemstone. You need not restrict gem selection to what is shown or mentioned on our websites.

The Kaisilver Claddagh Report, provides a more detailed explanation for the ring including history and significance. We also explain why the claddagh ring is perfect for all occasions - both formal and casual.

GEMSTONE CHOICE

The RG130 ring is shown as a silver claddagh ring with a swiss blue topaz gemstone. The ring can be ordered in gold or silver and if you wish to stay with topaz - you have a choice of sky (light) blue, swiss (bright) blue or dark (london) blue topaz gems. We can also provide white topaz or champagne colored topaz gems for your ring. We have stressed above that, your gemstone choice is unrestricted, so your choice need not be limited to topaz.

An important point to note is that, all gemstone references on Kaisilver websites refer to natural and not synthetic or manmade gems. If you need a lab created gemstone or diamond, let us know and we will work on details together. It is important that, you clearly understand what you will be getting in such case. We have seen an increased demand for jewelry with lab created diamonds and even, lab created emerald in recent years. If you prefer to go for a claddagh ring with a lab diamond or lab gemstone, our communication will clearly state that - the gemstone will not be natural.

You could choose a gemstone based on color or pick the gem that you adore - it is also likely that, gem selection is being made based on some specific meaning or tradition attached to it. Birthstone rings are a good example, it is believed that wearing a birthstone, brings good luck and keeps bad times away. We have posted the popular Kaisilver birthstone chart below in this report, it will help you pick your birthstone.

Gems differ in terms of price, quality and durability - it is not uncommon for buyers to get a bit overwhelmed when making a choice. Our gem experts at sales@kaisilver.com will be glad to clear any doubts that you might have.

BLUE TOPAZ GEMS

Blue topaz is a popular and affordable gemstone known for its stunning blues. When you talk about a blue topaz claddagh ring, you have a choice of 3 blue shades to choose from. Light blue (sky blue topaz) resembling the sky. More vibrant blue (swiss blue topaz) often described as electric blue. Darker blue (london blue topaz) considered the most valuable among blue topazes. Interestingly sky blue topaz can come close to the pastel blue color of aquamarine but, topaz and aquamarine are two gorgeous (but different) gemstones.

Blue topaz has a hardness of 8 (out of 10) on the Mohs scale, making it quite durable and suitable for everyday wear in jewelry. Blue topaz is commonly used in rings, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. Its affordability and stunning appearance make it a popular choice for various types of jewelry. For lovers of blue and blue gemstones, the blue topaz claddagh ring is a dream come true.

Blue topaz is often associated with calmness, relaxation, and clarity of mind. It is also believed to enhance communication and self-expression. Glance at the blue topaz claddagh ring on this page, your mind and sight never seems to tire or lose interest. Blue is the color associated with two of the most wonderful things that nature has give us, the waters and the sky.

A large number of gemstone lovers claim that, blue symbolizes trust, loyalty, and dependability. This is why it is commonly used in corporate branding and uniforms. Kaisilver experts add that blue gemstones give the feeling of reliability and continuity. The color blue is linked to intelligence, wisdom, and knowledge. It is often used in educational contexts and is associated with clear communication.

GOLD OR SILVER

Two important points that we have made about the RG130 custom made claddagh ring - that it is available in gold or silver and that, the gold and silver claddagh topaz rings have the same superior standards. So the choice of a gold or silver claddagh gemstone ring is really up to you.

As you work on your budget for the claddagh ring remember that, the meaning of the jewel is in the features and not the price tag. We strongly feel that every jewelry lover should include at least one claddagh in their collection - whether it be silver or gold. There is no need to overstrain your resources for this, silver is always an option. You could add a gold claddagh ring to your collection when, finances improve.

When it comes to gold claddagh rings, 14k rings have always been popular. It is true that 14k gold provides the right balance between, metal hardness and gold content. We however allow you to choose from 10k (request for pricing), 14k or 18k for your gold ring - you can further specify yellow, pink or white gold.

Silver jewelry brings up the topic about tarnish and that is relevant. What is a wrong notion is that, plating silver rings or other silver jewelry - prevents tarnish formation. The truth is that any plating done on silver wears off over time. At that point the wear off happens in patches meaning that, tarnish will appear on the exposed patches! Cleaning your silver claddagh ring in that condition would not be easy. A better option would be to leave your silver topaz claddagh ring un-plated. Do the cleaning and polishing just as tarnish starts to appear, it will be fairly easy to do that. Leave tarnish to form on silver and it gets quite stubborn, professional help might be required to handle the cleaning process at that stage.

RING DURABILITY

Start off by saying that the durability of the topaz claddagh ring or any other jewel for that matter, would depend on a number of factors. Jewelry should never be worn or stored in environments where the jewels can be physically struck, or in places exposed to strong chemicals or detergents. Do not expose your jewelry to places that could experience, violent temperature changes. We once again remind you that, our team at sales@kaisilver.com will be glad to provide advice and information on any issues, related to gems and jewelry.

Now more specifically to the advanced features in the RG130 claddagh silver or gold ring, that help make the jewel more durable. We avoid using prongs to set the center gem even though, prongs are much easier for craftsmen to execute. The entire gem is bordered with metal (gold or silver) while protecting the gem from side impact, this mounting also provides the most secure form of gemstone mountings. Prongs could scratch delicate skin and can open up when, they get stuck in fabric.

The metal weight assigned to Kaisilver claddagh rings is around 10 to 12 grams, larger gem sizes and ring (finger) sizes could require additional weight. We are aware that other jewelers could deliver a similar ring in a significantly lower weight. The point is that light weight jewelry can dent and bend easily, this could loosen gems and diamonds. When you make a price comparison between Kaisilver jewelry and jewelry provided by other jewelers, please compare all features and not just external appearance. You are of course free to choose the jeweler that you feel comfortable with.

Craftsmanship is one critical factor that determines how long lasting your claddagh ring would - fortunately fine craftsmanship has always been a strong point at Kaisilver. Mass produced jewelry using automated processes, is known to compromise on quality - the focus in that case is to keep costs low. Kaisilver on the other hand, assigns all jewelry to be meticulously handcrafted by highly skilled artisans in Thailand - this applies to both gold and silver jewelry. Attention is given to every single detail and production experts, perform multiple quality control checks on each jewel. This entire process does take time but, there really are no shortcuts when it comes to crafted high end jewelry.

I just wanted to tell you how thrilled I was with the ring I ordered from you. It is absolutely beautiful and I could not ask for more. All the custom aspects I requested were completed with perfection. It was more fabulous than I had dreamed. Thank you so very much! Sincerely, Laura Kennedy

Dear Ms. Seang, Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am very excited and overwhelmed to receive my ring and earrings. The ring is EXACTLY the same as the one that was stolen and I never thought I could replace it exactly, even to the spinal effect of the stones. The result is the ring is perfectly the same and the earrings match so well, just like the ones I lost. I do thank you so much. Your service and products have been excellent, and I would thoroughly recommend you to anyone. Reading the comments of other people you must be very pleased with the pleasure you give to your customers, when they receive your products. Please use me for publicity if you wish. Thank you also for your good wishes and blessing.
